1st Time Homebuyer Counseling
Understanding the homebuying process is one of the most important educational opportunities in which you will invest. Our homebuyer education program is designed to meet the needs of persons with little or no knowledge of the homebuying process and is formatted to equip every client with the information needed to make an informed homebuying decision.
Our program is useful for clients who have some homebuying knowledge or experience. It is designed to not only teach the fundamental steps of buying a home, but also to explain the reasoning behind many decisions that must be made throughout the process.
Our counselors understand local, regional and national housing market trends, and use this very specialized, market based knowledge to give our housing clients an edge over other consumers. You will learn:
•
Home Purchasing Process
•
Section 8 Homeownership Program
•
How to qualify for a Mortgage
•
Understand your credit report
•
How to address credit issues
•
Find affordable housing units available in your area
•
Home repair and preventative maintenance
•
Homeowner obligations
•
The “dos and don’ts” of refinancing
•
How to avoid loan delinquency and foreclosure
•
The importance of adequately communicating with
your lenders
The NID-HCA default/foreclosure-counseling program to date has a 95% success rate in avoiding client lose of property due to foreclosure (without the client filing a bankruptcy). NID-HCA works with your lender to negotiate the best terms available for all parties involved. NID-HCA will discuss extensively with the client issues such as, how to avoid foreclosure, options to foreclosure, communicating with your lender/service, renegotiating your loan terms, managing your debt and re-establishing your credit.
